The cute bowling-ball droid, which could well be the most in-demand toy of Christmas 2015, is called BB-8. The rebel X-Wing pilot played by Oscar Isaac is Poe Dameron. With her surname held back, could it be Rey is related to one of the original characters.
If those types of arguments are fair game, then so is the article comparing Vader and Kylo.The speeder-riding heroine played by Daisy Ridley is called Rey. I have seen people try to use his tweets for items more similar to the latter than the former, which is what I take issue with lol. But that's different than saying x character is more powerful/skilled/etc than y character. Now if he is saying something is canon or noncanon, then that's fair game. Matt Martin has stated that his tweets are just his opinion, and not to take them as fact. Doing that opens up the floodgates, because people like Martin, Chee, Hidalgo and Filoni have expressed many unofficial questionable things. The statements from Martin are factual, official clarifications of existing material. It's good ammunition against people who try to use Matt Martin tweets as debate evidence, since their justification is that he's a member of the story group, whereas the author of that article is also a story group member. If your interpretation is correct, they chose confusing wording lol.
I interpreted that as the author changing the subject from force powers to saber skills. So I think it’s saying that their lightsaber skills are equally as terrifying as their force powers. Well it’s taking about their force powers in the paragraph before and then says “and their lightsaber skills were equally terrifying.”
